Homeownership is a bedrock of building and sustaining healthy, safe communities. Studies continue to support the benefits of living in a safe, maintained home. These benefits include civically engaged citizens, safer neighborhoods, higher educational outcomes, general health and wellness, and increased longevity.
We are proud to support the efforts of our partner Renovation Alliance as they continue the goal of keeping the homes of our most vulnerable citizens warm, safe, and dry. It matters not only to each homeowner served, but also to our community at large.
ABOUT RENOVATION ALLIANCE
Above all, Renovation Alliance believes that a safe and healthy home is a right that every person in the Roanoke Valley should be afforded.
To achieve this, Renovation Alliance provides free home repair services to low-income homeowners, and prioritizes these services for the most vulnerable: those over the age of 60, those living with a disability, veterans and their surviving partners, and families caring for young children.
Since its inception in 1999, Renovation Alliance has repaired more than 1,500 homes, dramatically improving the living situation for thousands of local residents.
Â
Renovation Alliance and MKB share a commitment to provide the community with more than shelter – these efforts allow families and individuals to thrive in a home that is safe and in good repair while enjoying the security of homeownership.
MKB AT 50
What we believe at MKB, REALTORS®
In 1973, Lee Mastin, Betty Kirkland, and Chan Bolling decided to launch a different kind of real-estate company —one founded on honesty, reliable service and on supporting the whole community.
Â
Fifty years later, there are new faces at the helm, but the commitment to locally-focused values remains the same.
Â
All six owners - Kit, Steve, Mary, Henry, Curtis, and Ed - call the Roanoke Valley home. And as the region's largest locally-owned brokerage, we're mighty proud of our independence and local roots.
Â
Our slogan, "Buy Local, Live Local", encompasses our passion for community, giving back, and human connection.
Â
This event will honor Chan's work and legacy.
